Jaslene Rose Gutierrez is a senior at Helix Charter High School and covers sports for the Highland Fling. She brings the stories of local high school athletes to life through her feature writing. Beyond journalism, Jaslene is a true all-around athlete. She also likes to write poetry when she has too many emotions bottled up in her head and loves listening to music because, when words fail – music speaks. She plans on going to college and majoring in psychology to be a sports psychology consultant. Jaslene is also on a journey of self discovery; open to how her passions and personality will continue to evolve over time.
