Mrs. Gharib-Thedell serves as the advisor for The Highland Fling. She is also an English Teacher at Helix who has taught 9th graders for the past 12 years. As a freelance writer for The Vista during her undergraduate years at USD, Mrs. Thedell built a passion for sharing her voice and trying different styles of writing through journalism. She loves teaching writing and encourages students to find their voices while also speaking up for those who cannot.

When she is not teaching, Mrs. Thedell enjoys camping and hiking, surfing, writing poetry and short stories, cooking and playing real-life Minecraft with her son, Sawyer.
