Football: Their Postseason Run

This season has been filled with upsets and triumphs, however our football team has pushed their way to clench a playoff spot! Our Highlanders have a 4-6 record and are ranked third in their league. Tonight we have our first home playoff game against La Jolla, which is shaping up to be an exciting match.

La Jolla has a 7-4 record and is ranked 19th in San Diego versus us ranked at 17. Their last game was home against Madison, whom they beat 27-15.

Tonight the game starts at 7. The theme for the game is Pajamas so be sure to show up in that! Also now that we are in CIF all of the games cost money, so be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time and bring your ID’s of course. Please show up and show out tonight for our fellow Highlanders and stay tuned for the second part of this article, “Football: After La Jolla”. See you there!

Nyah McRae is a sophomore at Helix Charter High School and serves her role as a staff writer for the school newspaper. She likes writing about school sporting events, spirit days, feature stories, and literally anything else fun happening on campus. Outside of journalism and writing, she enjoys playing for the school soccer team, is in the fashion/interior design class, and plays club soccer. Nyah is very extroverted, highly respectful, creative, and loves her role in the school paper. She wants to go to college for an English major and hopes to continue soccer there, maybe one day even professionally.
